Matt Snyder is the General Manager for Panzano. Snyder is an excellent leader utilizing his past experiences of both front of the house, back of the house, and even bar management to lead Panzano to success. Snyder’s decorated past includes Assistant General Manager at his local college campus bar, working under Aaron Whitcomb and Scott Parker at Table 6, and opening a bar “with childhood friends.” When it comes to Panzano, Snyder utilizes his past experiences to lead the company for about four years.

 

Recently Chief Elise Wiggins decided to pursue a new venture allowing Chef Patrick Kelly to join the organization. According to Snyder, despite Panzano being open for 18 years, “realistically they’ve only had really three chefs in that time period.” Kelly has extensive culinary experience and is a great addition to the Panzano team.

 

Mile High Wine Tours and Panzano have an exceptional partnership, that allows groups to experience a wine dinner pairing to enhance the unique characteristics of both the food and the wine.  For large groups, guests will eat in a private dinning setting where Panzano “chooses the menus and we choose the wines.” However, for smaller groups, guests decide on dishes prior to arrival and upon arrival, servers are available to assist the guests in selecting the best wine for the meal ordered. Snyder shares that the Panzano serving staff is very knowledgeable regarding wine selection. This is due, in part, to the fact that the restaurant supports its servers wine education by “covering the tab” allowing the servers to obtain a sommelier certification through the Court of Master Sommeliers certification. There are “6 or 7 servers with Level 1 and 2 with Level 2, not including management”, according to Snyder. Further, Snyder indicated that the staff participates in regular wine tastings and have a voice in what wines are placed on the menu. Regardless, the staff is always willing to help you find the best wine.

 

When it comes to Panzano, this attention to detail creates a top-notch service that will blow you away. According to Snyder, “we are always super highly rated for service.” He continues by explaining that Panzano receives a “Hospitality Award” which looks at “online reviews, secret shoppers’ reviews” from Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants.
