Start your day in Palisade at Clark Family Orchards to get a taste of Colorado’s famous Palisade peaches right near the source. If you’re planning to go on a Saturday, catch a wagon ride through the orchards. Here you will get to see branches filled with plums, pears and cherries. Afterwards, take a peaceful Palisade River Trip on the Colorado River through this calm area to see colorful orchards and vineyards on the surrounding cliffs.

Grand Junction’s downtown streets are filled with galleries, outdoor sculptures and gift shops. If you’re in the area on a Thursday you can stop by the local farmers’ market. Make a stop at one of the local cafes or bakeries for treats that will be some of the best things you’ve tasted on this trip. Later on, stop at Peach Street Distillers where you can sample brandy, vodka, bourbon, and gin, which are all made with Grand Valley ingredients.

For your final stop, head to Alida’s Fruits, a marketplace containing the most delicious fruit you’ll see in the area. Here you can purchase chocolate-dipped fruit, real-fruit jellybeans, dried fruit, jams, jellies, peach salsa and much more.

Finally, end your day sampling wine made from Grand Valley’s own fruit. You will discover an array of merlot, chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon, shiraz and German inspired wines. This area has a warm and welcoming environment which makes sampling one of the state’s most relaxing activities.
